Join the X Chapter for the Ultimate in BMW CCA road rallies!
2024 is the 25th Anniversary of the launch of the X5 and the X brand so we are celebrating in a big way. To make this celebration extra special, we've planned the ultimate road trip in X Drives America. Seeking to connect with all of our members and the broader BMW CCA community, we've designed a road trip of four simultaneous routes with stops along the way at each of the BMW CCA's geographic chapters. Each chapter has been asked to host an event, aligned to the dates of X Drives America. We have miniature X5 models that need to travel from Anchorage, Honolulu, Toronto and San Juan to each of the geo chapters and then to Greer, SC all in time for a special November celebration. This is where you come in - we need your help to drive your vehicle and complete each leg of the route and ensure the mini X5s make it to the celebration!
Select the segment(s) you'd like to travel. You can choose to complete your segment(s) on your own or with friends. Each registered participant is asked to:
- Take photos along the way. Photos can be of the geo chapters' events, people and cars involved in the segment(s) and even of quirky roadside attractions along the way. And don't forget to snap a pic or two of the X5 model assigned to your route as well. We'll use these photos to document the celebration via social media and the club's publications.
- Arrive on or before the deadline. Each segment has a deadline that it must be completed by. We will provide the contact information of the people you are handing off the X5 model to in your destination and you'll be able to coordinate the drop-off for a time that is convenient to both of you. In some cases, the X5 model will be taking to the air instead of driving to its destination so your responsibility is to drop it off at the post office (mailing supplies and paid postage will be provided).
As a thank you for participating in this first of its kind CCA event, each registered X Drives America participant will receive an event exclusive t-shirt and commemorative gift. These items will be available only to those who have registered for X Drives America and will be available for pickup at the Greer event in November or mailed to you shortly thereafter.
Cost to register is $35 per registered participant.
The weekend of November 7-9,2024 will be host to a formal celebration at Plant Spartanburg and BMW CCA National Headquarters with a X5 25th Anniversary Celebration. The weekend will also include an Xclusive all X vehicle half-day Performance Center East school.
Event requirements
Registration is open to all active BMW CCA members in all chapters. In cases where multiple registrants request a specific leg, priority will be given in the following order:
- Active X Chapter member (if you're not yet a member but would like to be, you can add the chapter as part of your event registration)
- Participants registered with and driving an X vehicle or X drive equipped vehicle
- All other active BMW CCA members from any chapter, registered with any BMW
- All other active BMW CCA members from any chapter, registered with any vehicle
Registrants may select multiple legs at no extra cost. If you would like to drive your segment(s) with friends or passengers, you can register them to receive the t-shirt and commemorative gift as well or they can come along with no charge (in this case no t-shirt or gift will be provided).
